ASpace is the student gallery at Sarah Lawrence. It is located in Bates between the Spiritual Space and mail room. This year, the managers of ASpace are Moira Connelly and Ida Greissemer. Moira explained what we can expect to see at ASpace in the near future.
Moira said that people are starting to book dates for both solo and collaborative shows. Some students have even reserved the space for their conference projects. In November, FLUX has scheduled a GenderFuck show. But visual art is not the only form the space is open to. Connelly and Greissemer plan to open the space to all sorts of art from interactive to performance, with the goal of artists re-interpreting each others work in different mediums. They hope that an array of talents will spur inspiration. To start the year off ,they are planning an open show party, fliers will be up soon.
To submit work to ASpace, e-mail aspace@slc.edu for a proposal form.
